Cleaning!!!

Okay, I have got WAAAAAYYYY too many books! I'm on a cleaning rampage here, going through each and every book. Have found duplicates -- more than I care to admit to (doesn't that show how unorganized my books are??) -- plus ones that I'm saying to myself, "Why did I buy THIS?" Obviously, those books just don't relate to me any more.

I've also got books that people have given to me that I just don't have any interest in. Now, all of that doesn't sound like it adds up to many books, but let me tell you, I've got a huge stack here that I'm still listing on eBay like crazy!

I have one new shelf up, and plan to get others. Outside of our school books (which are very organized), I am determined to get ALL the books organized. We still have about a dozen boxes of books in the storage unit that I have to pull out and go through.

If anyone's interested in the books, I've got them all listed on eBay -- Click Here to see them!

Starting School

I can't believe we left my son's main box of school books in Anaheim!! They are being UPS'd to us.

In the meantime, I'm rethinking his English. We have been using Warniner's. It's EXCELLENT, BUT -- very DRY. So I've ordered Jensen's to try that out. It's supposed to be more interesting to the kids, but still excellent. We'll see, and I'll let all of you know.

It's hard getting back into a routine of school. Even though we only took a month off for hockey camps, that one month seems to make a HUGE difference. We're both rather chaotic.

Summer's Over!

Okay, so yes, I don't keep this up very well at all. Sorry to those of who you actually DO read this!

We spent an extra long time at Mom's in California this summer. We left after hockey and chess ended -- about the third week of March. We went for Pascha (Easter), but with the gas prices so high, we decided to just stay instead of come home for a month or so before heading back out for our summer hockey camps.

And I'm glad we did stay! We are huge fans of the Anaheim Ducks. And if anyone knows hockey, you understand why we're glad we stayed! That extra time allowed us to meet all the guys on the team, get some photos, AND get a jersey COMPLETELY signed by all of them!!! Several hundred dollars later, we now have that fantastic jersey beautifully framed -- complete with the Stanley Cup patch, a special edition puck, and the confetti from the Stanley Cup party that we attended! Yes, that Cup party was awesome -- we got to actually lay our own eyeballs on the Cup!!! Well, it was exciting for US, anyway.

Although we're true "country" people at heart, there are many things to be said about staying in the "big city" for a period of time. Aside from the fact that we got to spend time at the beach and enjoy the shopping malls, we had an opportunity to see a couple of plays. We saw "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" AGAIN (one of our faves) and this time also saw "Mama Mia". Now, I've never heard of "Mama Mia", but I'm in love! This has now become one of my all time faves -- not only because of the cute story line, but I love Abba's music! So this is a recommended play for anyone looking for recommendations (but the story line is for mature audiences -- my son thought it was "stupid"!).
